We are currently recruiting for new Trustees to join our Board. Our Trustees play a crucial role in shaping the future of one of Wales’s most important cultural institutions. Sherman Trustees provide strategic oversight, stewardship, governance, and support to our executive team.
We are committed to ensuring that our Board reflects and represents the diversity of our vibrant communities and would therefore particularly welcome applications from prospective trustees from diverse backgrounds, who can bring a broad range of skills and experiences to the role. The ability to speak Welsh would be desirable although not essential and previous board experience is not required.We are looking for Trustees with Experience in:
- Finance/Accounting: knowledge/experience in Not for Profit and Charity finance
- Fundraising/Funding: knowledge/experience in developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies
- Building/Facilities Management: knowledge/experience of building maintenance, environmental sustainability and catering facilities
- Theatre Making: knowledge/experience of a Producing Theatre environment
As a Trustee, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the Sherman by providing strategic oversight, stewardship and governance, and support to our executive team. Your input will be vital in ensuring we continue to thrive and achieve our goals, deliver our ambitions and meet our obligations as a charitable organisation.

Prospective Trustees will be invited to an informal discussion with the Chair of our Board, following which candidates selected by the HR & Governance Committee will be invited to a visit and tour of the theatre.
