With breathtakingly rich music and lyrics, which only Sondheim could write, this musical explores love for those around us and the insatiable desire to create.

One of Stephen Sondheim’s most well-known masterpieces, Sunday in the Park with George imagines how George Seurat came to paint his most celebrated work, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

Starting with a blank canvas George observes and attempts to capture the characters that frequent the park, including Dot, George’s model and lover. But how much can we really capture? Do we want to see the truth or an impression, and what does the artist sacrifice?
