Set in the shadow of the north Wales slate quarries in the early ’90s, this is a gripping tale about growing up, the power of words, friendship and just how far people will go for love.
Based on the best-selling novel Pigeon by author Alys Conran, and adapted for the stage by Bethan Marlow. Welsh and English are subtly woven together, and every performance will use integrated captioning in both Welsh and English.
Audio Description
Thursday 9 March, 7.30pm: Audio description in English. An audio describer will tell you what’s happening on stage in English. As well as the audio description, an actor will provide live Welsh to English translation of the script, through the same headset.
The audio description will be delivered in English by Michelle Perez, whilst Eilir Gwyn will translate the Welsh dialogue into English. The accompanying touch tour will be conducted in English and will be led by Michelle Perez.
Friday 10 March 7.30pm: Audio description in Welsh. An audio describer will tell you what’s happening on stage in Welsh. The describer will leave gaps so that you can listen to both the Welsh and English dialogue being said by the actors on stage.
The audio description will be delivered in Welsh by Eilir Gwyn. The accompanying touch tour will be conducted in Welsh and will also be led by Eilir Gwyn.
Touch Tour
A Touch Tour will be available an hour before each Audio Described performance of Pijin | Pigeon for audience members who are blind or partially sighted. During the tour you will be able to feel parts of the set, costumes and key props to help increase your enjoyment of the show.
