For ages 3-6
Fun. Friendly. Feel-good.
In Goldentown, there are rules everyone must follow. If you don’t have yellow hair, you are different. And Goldentown isn’t a place to be different….
One day, Goldie’s hair starts to turn blue. This sets her on an adventure far away from Goldentown, and from her Nain – the town’s mayor. Who will she meet along the way? And can they help Goldie change Nain’s rules?
What can you expect?
Sherman Theatre’s annual Christmas show for ages 3 – 6 gives children across Cardiff and South Wales their first taste of theatre, right here in our Studio. Elgan Rhys’s new telling of the Goldilocks story is the perfect show to introduce children to the magic of theatre at Christmas.
Everything you need to know about Goldilocks:
The story you know and love, but with a twist
Elgan Rhys’s new adaptation of Goldilocks takes this much-loved tale and looks at it in a different way.
A show full of colour, music and fun
The story of Goldilocks is told through beautiful sets and costumes, catchy songs and magical puppetry. We hope you’ll leave the theatre singing, and with lots to talk about.
An informal and friendly experience
Goldilocks is performed by a cast of three, in an informal environment, and is just fifty minutes long – the perfect introduction to the theatre.
It’s all about celebrating difference
Goldilocks is a joyful celebration of difference in all its forms, and of the importance of being yourself.
You can watch our new telling of the Goldilocks story in English or Welsh
Each year we perform our Studio Christmas show in English and Welsh. Goldilocks is the English translation of the Welsh language adaptation of Elen Benfelen. The show will be performed in the original Welsh at separate performances.
The price of everything seems to be going up at the moment and we want to ensure that the cost of tickets is in reach of as many people as possible:
- 2 Adults and 2 Children can see Goldilocks for under £40 (subject to availability).
- Break down the cost of your tickets for the show into two equal payments, one when you book and the other a week before the performance. Call 029 2064 6900 to find out more (applies to bookings of £20 in value or more).
